Releases for 27 June 2025
The first of 27 June’s smashers comes from Jakko M. Jakszyk, vocalist and guitarist in legendary progressive rockers King Crimson, whose brand-new solo album, Son of Glen, takes many of the topics touched on in his autobiography as its starting point. Every BC Camplight album has a backstory every bit as compelling as its music, and A Sober Conversation is no different, confronting a shocking childhood trauma while embracing sobriety, to create his bravest and most revealing record yet: enthralling and sometimes haunting. Virgin is the sound of Lorde returning to the beat-driven music and raw lyricism that propelled Pure Heroine and Melodrama to commercial and critical success, marking the return of a truly generational artist. For as far as Durand Jones & The Indications have come, Flowers grew from the desire to return to their roots in a Bloomington basement, a space where they first found camaraderie in gritty funk and Southern soul. Nearly fifty years after Tangerine Dream performed a now-legendary concert set at Coventry Cathedral, the band’s current incarnation returned to that sacred space to perform From Virgin to Quantum Years, bridging eras in a performance that reflects the band’s extraordinary and ceaseless evolution.
Our release of the week is Lost and Found: Selections from the Lost Albums, a curated collection of 20 previously unreleased recordings that illuminate key chapters in Bruce Springsteen’s storied career, offering fans unprecedented insight into his creative process and showcasing his versatility across genres.
- Lost and Found: Selections from the Lost Albums is a curated collection of 20 previously unreleased songs from Bruce Springsteen’s Tracks II: The Lost Albums box set. These recordings illuminate key chapters in Springsteen’s storied career, offering fans unprecedented insight into his creative process. These were full albums, recorded and some even mixed but never released, spanning 35 prolific years of Springsteen’s songwriting and recording and showcasing his versatility across genres: film soundtracks, soulful country arrangements, richly textured border tales, orchestral mid-century noir and signature E Street rock.
- Jakko M. Jakszyk, most recently known as the vocalist and guitarist in legendary progressive rockers King Crimson, returns with his brand-new solo album, Son of Glen. People already familiar with Jakko’s acclaimed autobiography, Who’s the Boy with the Lovely Hair?, will be aware of the intensely emotional journey he went on in search of his roots, being an adopted child, and his new solo album takes many of the topics touched on in that book as its starting point.
- Every BC Camplight album has a backstory every bit as compelling as its music. A Sober Conversation is no different, as virtuoso songwriter and pianist Brian Christinzio documents the last two years of his life, finally confronting a shocking childhood trauma while embracing sobriety, to create his bravest and most revealing record yet. It’s an enthralling, sometimes haunting quasi-concept album marked by ruthless tragic-comedic purging and sublime, intricate melody, knitting lyrical screenplays to dazzling arrangements.
- Note: The LP is initially available on gold vinyl.
- Co-produced with Jim-E Stack, with contributions from Devonte Hynes (Blood Orange), Dan Nigro, Fabiana Palladino, Buddy Ross and Andrew Aged, Virgin is the sound of Lorde returning to the beat-driven music and raw lyricism that propelled Pure Heroine and Melodrama to commercial and critical success. Preceded by lead single ‘What Was That’ (which peaked at #1 on the US Spotify Chart), Virgin marks the return of a truly generational artist.
- Note: The LP is initially available on translucent red vinyl.
- For as far as Durand Jones & The Indications have come, Flowers grew from the desire to return to their roots in a Bloomington basement, a space where they first found camaraderie in the gritty funk and Southern soul that would inspire their self-titled debut. Pulling sonically and spiritually from each of the group’s previous releases and solo work, Flowers is the next stage of DJI’s inspired soulful discography. DJI are not only accepting their flowers but indulging in their sweet and sexy fragrance.
- Note: The LP is initially available on blue ‘iceberg splash’ vinyl.
- In 1974, Tangerine Dream – then comprising Edgar Froese, Peter Baumann and Christopher Franke – performed a now-legendary concert set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Coventry Cathedral. Nearly fifty years later, the current incarnation of the band – Thorsten Quaeschning, Hoshiko Yamane and Paul Frick – returned to that same sacred space to perform a monumental From Virgin to Quantum Years set, bridging eras in a performance that reflects the band’s extraordinary and ceaseless evolution.
Releases for 20 June 2025
The first of 20 June’s musical marvels is superstar-in-waiting Benson Boone’s second album, American Heart, which he launched with a show-stopping Coachella performance with Brian May. Indie/dance crossover icons The Farm return as wised-up statesmen of pop with Let the Music (Take Control), their first new studio album in more than 30 years! GoGo Penguin, the Manchester trio that blends jazz, classical and electronic influences, reaches a thrilling moment with their new album, Necessary Fictions, on which they unveil some of their boldest moves to date. Kelsey Waldon has earned wide praise for her self-penned compositions with the patina of authenticity, and on her new album, Every Ghost, she confronts addiction, grief, generational trauma and even herself. Emerging from London’s underground music scene, The Sick Man of Europe is distinctly monochrome in its outlook, echoing the post-punk and European art-rock pioneers at the cusp of the ’80s, but re-tooled for the present.
Our release of the week is I Quit, the first new album from Haim since 2020’s Women in Music Pt. III, which radiates the raw energy of seasoned performers whose deep reverence for classic rock shapes songs that are built for live performances.
- I Quit, the first new album from Haim since 2020’s Women in Music Pt. III, radiates the raw energy of seasoned performers whose deep reverence for classic rock shapes songs that are built for live performances. Women in Music received two Grammy nominations, including the prestigious Album of the Year, making Haim the first all-female rock group to be included in the Grammys’ top category.
- Following his electrifying Coachella headline set with the legendary Brian May, Benson Boone has announced his second album, American Heart. Benson solidified his status in 2024 with a string of hits, led by ‘Beautiful Things’ and its follow-up, ‘Slow It Down’. 2025 is already off to a huge start with a standout performance at the Grammys, and American Heart is shaping up to cement him further as a global superstar.
- Note: The LP is initially available on deluxe red, white and blue marble on translucent clear vinyl with a poster.
- The Farm – original DIY success story, indie/dance crossover icons and enduring figures across multiple realms of British popular culture – return with Let the Music (Take Control), their first new studio album in more than 30 years! Instantly recognisable sonically for their aspirational, observational and near-spiritual upbeat electro-inspired indie and visually for their mod-ish terrace-gang wardrobe, the formerly riotous, now reformed Liverpool five-piece return as wised-up statesmen of pop.
- Note: The LP is initially available on purple vinyl.
- GoGo Penguin, the Manchester trio that has blended jazz, classical and electronic influences since forming in 2012, reaches a thrilling moment with their new album, Necessary Fictions. This release finds pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka and drummer Jon Scott digging deep internally to reach their integral and authentic qualities at this moment in time. This entails some of their boldest moves to date, such as incorporating more modular synthesisers – and even guest players – into their sound.
- Kelsey Waldon has earned wide praise for her “self-penned compositions [with] the patina of authenticity” (Rolling Stone). On her new album, Every Ghost – recorded at Southern Grooves studio in Memphis with her band, The Muleskinners – she confronts addiction, grief, generational trauma and even herself, and comes through it stronger and at peace. Waldon has earned the title of ‘Kentucky Colonel’ – an honour recognising goodwill ambassadors of the state’s culture and traditions – and a spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame’s 2024 American Currents exhibition, among other accolades.
- Emerging from London’s underground music scene, The Sick Man of Europe is distinctly monochrome in its outlook. Each note counts in this climate – economical but played with absolute precision and conviction, propelled forward by machines and seeking solace in repetition. There are echoes of the post-punk and European art-rock pioneers at the cusp of the ’80s, but re-tooled for the present – connecting the current post-Brexit landscape to the austerity of Thatcherite Britain and the social conditions that shaped the likes of Bauhaus and Joy Division.
- Note: The LP is initially available on sanguine red vinyl.
Releases for 13 June 2025
Our super soaraway six for 13 June opens with Remembering Now, which is rich with hallmarks of classic Van Morrison: those transcendent, uncategorisable rhapsodies that make him unique in music. Half Man Half Biscuit are back with All Asimov and No Fresh Air, the band’s sixteenth full album of original material since 1985 and the first since 2022’s The Voltarol Years. Avkrvst’s new album, Waving at the Sky, is a dark and devastating concept record about harrowing real-life events: this is modern progressive music at its deepest, darkest and most bewitching. Phantom Island was recorded during the sessions for 2024’s Flight B741 and sees King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard expanding their sonic palette to include a full-blown orchestra! Paul Statham retains his principal role as both producer and songwriter in The Dark Flowers, ably abetted on Indian Summer by Jim Kerr, The Anchoress, and others.
Our release of the week is Talkin to the Trees, the debut album from Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts: a personal and powerful album that leaves no doubt where Neil Young stands in these challenging times.
- Talkin to the Trees, the debut album from Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts, is a personal and powerful album featuring ten new compositions by Young. ‘Big Change’, the first song from the album, has a message that leaves no doubt where Neil Young stands in these challenging times.
- The Chrome Hearts are: Spooner Oldham (organ), Micah Nelson (guitar, vocal), Corey McCormick (bass, vocal), Anthony LoGerfo (drums), with Neil Young (guitar, harp, piano, vibes). The album is co-produced by Lou Adler and Young, and recorded at Shangri La Studios in Malibu.
- Note: The LP is initially available on limited-edition clear vinyl, exclusive to independent RSD shops.
- With Remembering Now, the legendary Van Morrison returns to the transcendent, uncategorisable rhapsodies that make him unique in music. Soul, jazz, blues, folk, country – this is music in conversation with all of them but limited by none. It’s rich with hallmarks of classic Van, with dominant themes of love in spirit, some escapist romance, a smattering of self-deprecating candour and specific references to locations from his youth. The title of one song, ‘When the Rains Came’, echoes a lyric from his classic ‘Brown Eyed Girl’.
- Note: The LP is initially available on orange vinyl.
- Half Man Half Biscuit are back with a brand-new studio album released by the band themselves on their own RM Qualtrough label. All Asimov and No Fresh Air is the band’s sixteenth full album of original material since 1985, and the first since 2022’s The Voltarol Years.
- Avkrvst’s new album, Waving at the Sky, is a dark and devastating concept record about real-life events: a spiritual successor to 2023’s The Approbation, and a huge leap forward on every conceivable level. The album’s hazy, unsettling narrative is inspired by harrowing events that took place in rural Norway when Simon Bergseth and Martin Utby were children: a gruesome family tragedy about abuse that is as dark as it gets. Waving at the Sky is modern progressive music at its deepest, darkest and most bewitching.
- Note: The LP is initially available on creamy white vinyl.
- Phantom Island is a companion album to 2024’s Flight B741, recorded during the same sessions. This latest release sees King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard expanding their sonic palette to include a full-blown orchestra across the album’s 10 tracks!
- Indian Summer, the new album from The Dark Flowers, sees Paul Statham retain his principal role in the project as both producer and songwriter. Jim Kerr from Simple Minds continues his involvement, as does Welsh songwriter and multi-instrumentalist The Anchoress, plus David J from Bauhaus/Love and Rockets, Gabriella Cilmi and Shelly Poole.
Releases for 6 June 2025
The first of 6 June’s recommendations comes from Katatonia, who continue to redefine the emotional spectrum of metal on Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State, shifting effortlessly between haunting vulnerability and commanding artistry. Marconi Union’s latest release, The Fear of Never Landing, takes us on a dynamic journey that’s atmospheric, diaphanous and never short of mesmerising, infused with a sense of hope but a soupçon of anxiety too. Lotus marks an exciting new chapter in Little Simz’s artistic journey, drawing from an expansive palette of musical influences including punk, jazz, Afrobeat and more and continuing to push artistic boundaries. Walk This Road, the brand-new 10-track album from The Doobie Brothers, is the first album to feature Michael McDonald, Tom Johnston, Pat Simmons and John McFee all together on one album. And British guitar virtuoso and powerhouse singer-songwriter Joanne Shaw Taylor returns with her electrifying 10th studio album, Black & Gold: a masterclass in emotional depth and raw energy.
Our release of the week is More. – the first Pulp album since We Love Life in 2001. After a year’s gestation while on tour, the album was recorded in just 3 weeks, the shortest amount of time a Pulp album has ever taken to record. It was obviously ready to happen.
- More. is the first Pulp album since We Love Life in 2001. Yes: the first Pulp album for almost 24 years! The album had its origins during a live tour in 2023, and was recorded by James Ford over just 3 weeks, starting in November 2024. This is the shortest amount of time a Pulp album has ever taken to record. It was obviously ready to happen.
- Note: The LP is initially available on both ‘Theresa’ green vinyl and on ‘blue-sky thinking’ blue/white marble vinyl, exclusive to independent shops.
- Even after more than 30 years, Katatonia continue to redefine the emotional spectrum of metal. On their new album, Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State, the Stockholm-based grandeurs of melancholic heaviness shift effortlessly between haunting vulnerability and commanding artistry, once again masterfully navigating the tightrope act between nocturnal darkness and Scandinavian despair while subtly weaving a sense of hope into the listener’s heart.
- Marconi Union’s latest release, The Fear of Never Landing, takes us on a dynamic journey that’s atmospheric, diaphanous and never short of mesmerising. While the new record is certainly infused with a sense of hope, there’s more than a soupçon of anxiety too, as the title suggests.
- This summer, Little Simz returns with her sixth album, Lotus. The record marks an exciting new chapter in Simz’s artistic journey, drawing from an expansive palette of musical influences including punk, jazz, Afrobeat and more. True to form, Simz continues to push boundaries and defy genre constraints, creating a sound that’s both innovative and distinctly her own.
- Note: The LP is initially available on electric pink vinyl.
- Walk This Road, the brand-new 10-track album from The Doobie Brothers, is the first album to feature Michael McDonald, Tom Johnston, Pat Simmons and John McFee all together on one album.
- British guitar virtuoso and powerhouse singer-songwriter Joanne Shaw Taylor returns with her electrifying 10th studio album, Black & Gold. Reuniting with legendary producer Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Journey, Joe Bonamassa), Taylor pushes the boundaries of blues rock, weaving in threads of Americana, indie rock and retro ’80s pop. From heart-wrenching ballads to hard-hitting blues rock bruisers, the album is a masterclass in emotional depth and raw energy.
- Note: The LP is initially available on gold vinyl.
Releases for 30 May 2025
First out of the blocks on 30 May is Miley Cyrus, whose highly anticipated ninth new studio album, Something Beautiful, features 13 new tracks written and produced by Miley and executive-produced by Miley with Shawn Everett. Sometimes we have to drown to remember how to breathe, and it’s in Get Sunk’s collaborative spirit and loose, unfurling attitude that Matt Berninger finds that when we sink into ourselves, we’ll often find that we are actually swimming with others. Kathryn Joseph’s fourth album, We Were Made Prey, is both a reaction to and reprieve for the animal within: eleven songs that accept her whole being, with all its hunger, lust and rage, and its devastating tenderness too. Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have packed in so many genres and flavours into Carpe Diem, Moonman that the album blasts out the gates, takes you for a spin then leads you off into somewhere beautiful, fun and enthralling. Finally, Swans’ latest album, Birthing, is a testament to Michael Gira’s uncompromising sonic vision that was developed while touring and refined through relentless improvisation and live performance.
Our release of the week is Let All that We Imagine Be the Light, which features all the hallmarks and signatures for which Garbage are known: big angular guitars, precise, propulsive beats and cinematic soundscapes all lurk beneath Shirley Manson’s expressive voice, her lyrics bristling with attitude. This is the sound of a group at the peak of their creative powers.
- Let All that We Imagine Be the Light is unmistakably Garbage. All the hallmarks and signatures for which they are known are present here: big angular guitars, precise, propulsive beats and cinematic soundscapes all lurk beneath Shirley Manson’s expressive voice, her lyrics bristling with attitude. It is the sound of a group at the peak of their creative powers – characteristically harnessing sonic juxtapositions and moods to create an album that thrums equally with both light and shade.
- Note: The LP is initially available on both pearl sunrise vinyl and neon orange vinyl.
- Miley Cyrus returns with her highly anticipated ninth new studio album, Something Beautiful, which features 13 new tracks written and produced by Miley and executive-produced by Miley and Shawn Everett.
- Note: The LP is initially available on transparent red vinyl, exclusive to independent shops.
- Get Sunk is an ode to the infinite that brings brush-stroked, blurry memories to the surface. Under water, everything moves in slow motion and Matt Berninger saw his creative voice slipping away with the current. But sometimes we have to drown to remember how to breathe, and it’s in the album’s collaborative spirit and loose, unfurling attitude that Berninger found that when we sink into ourselves, we’ll often find that we are actually swimming with others.
- Note: The LP is initially available on cobalt vinyl.
- The songs on Kathryn Joseph’s new album, We Were Made Prey, dance on the knife-edge: of action versus inaction, of want versus wanting, of self-fulfilment versus shame. Kathryn’s fourth album is both a reaction to and reprieve for the animal within: eleven songs that accept her whole being, with all its hunger, lust and rage, and its devastating tenderness too.
- Note: The LP is initially available on red vinyl.
- Carpe Diem, Moonman is an entanglement of chaos, the by-product of excessive touring, an explosion of doubt, wonder, excitement, dog bites, Greek philosophy, death and weekend benders: a mongrel of sorts. Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have packed in so many genres and flavours that the album blasts out the gates, takes you for a spin then leads you off into somewhere beautiful, fun and enthralling.
- Note: The LP is initially available on both blue/red/white splatter vinyl and red/black splatter vinyl.
- Swans return with their latest album, Birthing, which was developed over the course of a year-long 2023–24 tour. Refined through relentless improvisation and live performance, as well as newly composed studio pieces, Birthing is a testament to Michael Gira’s uncompromising sonic vision. Beginning as skeletal acoustic compositions, the songs were gradually expanded and transformed in the studio with long-standing collaborators and live members.
Releases for 23 May 2025
23 May’s hot six starts with Strawberries, the new album from Robert Forster – co-founder of the Go-Betweens and one of Australia’s most acclaimed singer-songwriters. Trip-hop royalty Morcheeba make a blistering return with a stunning 11th studio album, Escape the Chaos, on which they try to reconnect with what really matters. Retune your colour TV aerial with Instant Holograms on Metal Film, the first Stereolab album in 15 years, which features 13 new studio recordings. Irish trio Amble harness a rare magic threaded into the fabric of their novelistic folk, and Reverie is full of descriptive storytelling, heartfelt lyrics and powerful performances. And Sci-fi Lullabies showcases some of Suede’s finest B-sides from their most prolific era (1994–1997), featuring tracks from Suede, Dog Man Star and Coming Up.
Our release of the week comes from Sparks, who – unlike most acts in their sixth decade in the biz – are constantly looking for new sources of musical inspiration, and they return triumphantly with MAD!, proving yet again their resilience and relevance in a modern world.
- Most acts would, by their sixth decade in the biz, have slowed to a crawl, creakily playing their past hits on the heritage circuit and releasing nothing more than the occasional ‘greatest hits’ collection. This is not the case for Sparks, who return triumphantly with MAD!, proving yet again their resilience and relevance in a modern world.
- Note: The LP is initially available on light blue vinyl with a lenticular sleeve.
- Strawberries, the new album from Robert Forster – co-founder of the Go-Betweens and one of Australia’s most acclaimed singer-songwriters – is on the softer, more melodic side of indie pop; but ultimately, it’s hard to argue against that as an approach to songwriting.
- Note: The LP is initially available on limited-edition red vinyl.
- Trip-hop royalty Morcheeba make a blistering return with a stunning 11th studio album, Escape the Chaos. “This whole record is a process of trying to reconnect with what really matters. Whether with what’s in your heart or with the world, putting your feet on grass and feeling the earth beneath you,” says Ross Godfrey.
- Note: The LP is initially available on red vinyl.
- Are you having aerial troubles with your colour TV? We can’t help with the technical issues, but we can take your minds off the problem with Instant Holograms on Metal Film, the first Stereolab album in 15 years, which features 13 new studio recordings.
- Irish trio Amble harness a rare magic threaded into the fabric of their novelistic folk. Their debut album, Reverie, is full of descriptive storytelling, heartfelt lyrics and powerful performances. The 14-track project was recorded live, often in only a take or two, perfectly encapsulating their raw energy and authentic spirit.
- On its original release in 1997, Sci-fi Lullabies reached No. 9 in the UK Albums Chart and received widespread critical acclaim. The collection showcases some of Suede’s finest B-sides from their most prolific era (1994–1997), featuring tracks from Suede, Dog Man Star and Coming Up.
- Note: The LP is initially available on limited-edition grey vinyl.
Releases for 16 May 2025
We kick off 16 May’s hot picks with Corb Lund’s 1994 album Modern Pain, which captures the raw and do-it-yourself nature of his early acoustic and folk records and is finally getting its first vinyl release after more than thirty years. Ezra Furman’s fearless creativity and emotional honesty have made her one of the most compelling voices in modern music, and Goodbye Small Head explores the experience of completely losing control, and is the sound of a band reaching the peak of their powers. Since their formation in 2010, Berlin’s Kadavar have moved from retro psych-stoner rock to a more contemporary sound, and their latest album, I Just Want to Be a Sound, reflects that progress. Crooked Teeth holds a special place in the heart of the fans who crowdfunded it, and it marks a transition between Papa Roach’s nu-metal roots and the new era of modern rock. Volume 4 & 5 is a double-LP package from Bardo Pond, combining more free-form improvisational jams on vinyl for the first time, traversing space rock, acid rock, post-rock, shoegaze, noise, krautrock and psychedelia.
Our release of the week is Metalhorse, a concept album revolving around a dilapidated funfair, representing risk and pleasure, danger and exhilaration. This is the first Billy Nomates album to be made in a studio with a full band, and it explores blues, folk and piano-driven arrangements that take her stark punk sound in a more pastoral direction.
- Metalhorse is a concept album revolving around the image of a dilapidated funfair, representing the tumultuousness of life: risk and pleasure, danger and exhilaration. This is the first Billy Nomates album to be made in a studio with a full band, and the 11 new songs here explore blues, folk and piano-driven arrangements that take her stark punk sound in a more pastoral direction.
- Note: The LP is initially available on ‘blue galaxy silver’ vinyl.
- Corb Lund’s 1994 album Modern Pain is finally getting its first vinyl release after more than thirty years. The album by one of Canada’s most beloved and revered songwriters captures the raw and do-it-yourself nature of his early acoustic and folk records, showcasing songs that range from upbeat, punchy numbers to sentimental tracks. The songs were recorded in a basement on the cheap and have an innocent, indie charm that couldn’t be recreated in the studio.
- Ezra Furman’s fearless creativity and emotional honesty have made her one of the most compelling voices in modern music. Blending punk energy, heartfelt lyricism and genre-defying innovation, Furman’s work is both deeply personal and universally resonant. Her new album, Goodbye Small Head, contains twelve variations on the experience of completely losing control, whether through weakness, illness, mysticism, BDSM, drugs, heartbreak or just living in a sick society with one’s eyes open, and represent a band reaching the peak of their powers.
- Note: The LP is initially available on berry-coloured vinyl.
- Kadavar have undergone a significant transformation since their formation in 2010. From credible representatives of retroesque, psychedelic stoner rock, which always thrived on the contemporary coolness of Berlin, they soon went out into the big wide world, where they not only presented their musical idea, but also found new inspiration, and their sound has become more contemporary over the years.
- Note: The LP is initially available on white vinyl.
- Crooked Teeth holds a special place in the heart of Papa Roach fans, who were given the opportunity to support the creation of the album in an astonishing crowdfunding bid that offered unique prizes, such as the opportunity of buying the band’s studio (and all of the equipment in it). Their ninth studio album was a flag in the soil of this immortality, marking an exploration between their nu-metal roots and the new era of modern rock.
- Note: The LP is initially available on red vinyl.
- Volume 4 & 5 is a double-LP package from Bardo Pond, combining two more volumes of free-form improvisational jams on vinyl for the first time. These tracks capture the raw essence of the band, whose fearless exploration blurs the lines between structure, chaos, melody and noise, traversing space rock, acid rock, post-rock, shoegaze, noise, krautrock and psychedelia.

The first of 9 May’s scorchers is Wild and Clear and Blue, the second album from I’m With Her – multi-Grammy-Award-winners Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz and Aoife O’Donovan – who build an ineffable magic from fine-spun narratives and breathtaking harmonies. Dreamsicle takes place in the aftermath of Maren Morris loosening her grip on her personal and professional life; it’s less about the hard lessons and more about enjoying the bumpy ride and finding people who genuinely want to be on it with you because they love you. Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets!, the first album from Counting Crows since 2014, embodies the contrast between intimate storytelling and larger-than-life themes, plus the rich melodies that have made Counting Crows one of the most beloved bands of the last three decades. The Kooks, whose sound defined indie in the 2000s and whose debut album went 4 x platinum in the UK, return with a brand-new album: Never/Know, which puts on show some of lead singer Luke Pritchard’s most simple yet expressive lyrics to-date. The layers of this condensed epic unfold to reveal new dimensions with each successive listen.

Dreamsicle became less about the hard lessons and more about enjoying the bumpy ride and finding people who genuinely want to be on it with you because they love you. It’s about appreciating and respecting the beauty and nuances of life while it’s happening, not after it’s too late.”
- Note: The LP is initially available on translucent orange vinyl.

The songs are filled with witty one-liners and endearing nicknames for his children and loved ones, which resonate on the surface yet carry a deeper, more personal significance.
- The mysterious British alternative metal band Sleep Token return with their fourth offering, Even in Arcadia. First up among 2 May’s picks is Ten Crowns, the new solo album from Erasure’s Andy Bell: ten brand-new tracks of dazzling, joyous pop inspired by the dancefloor and gospel, including an incredible collaboration with Andy’s idol, Debbie Harry. Briston Maroney’s guitar-heavy, explosive and engrossing new album, Jimmy, finds the artist stepping into the minds of the two worlds he straddles between, and ultimately letting them meld to life’s true masterpiece: simply being yourself. The Way We Were Vol. 1 features the earliest recordings of tracks that would later appear on Status Quo albums or on Francis Rossi’s his solo projects, offering a chance to experience how these songs were born: raw, sincere, and performed straight from the heart. Flying with Angels, the first studio album of new songs in eleven years from Suzanne Vega, finds her returning to observations on city life, ordinary people and real-world subjects. Esther Rose leans toward confrontational arrangements full of distortion and full-band spontaneity on Want, her stunning fifth album, while never sacrificing a gift for melody that makes each song instantly memorable.

- Briston Maroney’s guitar-heavy, explosive and engrossing new album, Jimmy, finds the artist stepping into the minds of the two worlds he straddles, and ultimately letting them meld to life’s true masterpiece: simply being yourself.
- Note: The LP is initially available on hot pink vinyl, exclusive to independent shops.
- The Way We Were Vol. 1 features the earliest recordings of tracks that would later appear on Status Quo albums or on Francis Rossi’s solo projects: raw, sincere and performed straight from the heart, without the influence of studio refinement or commercial considerations. This is how the songs you love originally sounded.
- Flying with Angels is the first studio album of new songs in eleven years from Suzanne Vega. Bearing the stamp of a masterful storyteller who “observes the world with a clinically poetic eye” (New York Times), Vega’s new songs find her returning to observations on city life, ordinary people and real-world subjects.
- Note: The LP is initially available on grey smoke vinyl.
- Esther Rose blends her pop instincts with country storytelling on Want, her stunning fifth album. This is the hardest-hitting record of her career, travelling as far as she’s been from the stripped-down classic country of her celebrated early work, instead leaning toward confrontational arrangements full of distortion and full-band spontaneity while never sacrificing a gift for melody that makes each song instantly memorable.
- Note: The LP is initially available on yellow vinyl with an autographed cover.
