Releases for 25 April 2025
First of our picks from 25 April’s new releases is Stereophonics, who celebrate over 25 years as one of the UK’s most-loved bands with their new album, Make ’Em Laugh, Make ’Em Cry , Make ’Em Wait. Renowned folk singer-songwriter Kate Rusby’s latest, When They All Looked Up, is one of her best-sounding albums to date, blending delicate acoustic instrumentation with lush, cinematic textures. Dream Into It is a pumping, rocking pop-punk odyssey that tells the rich and deeply personal tale of Billy Idol’s voyage from young punk-rock dreamer to his re-set as a leather-gloved MTV icon, then on to all his well publicised highs and lows. Self Esteem returns with her third studio album, A Complicated Woman: a big, bold and poptastic statement that is a worthy follow-up to the Brit and Mercury-nominated Prioritise Pleasure. Live in the City of Diamonds captures the visceral excitement of a Simple Minds concert, from a performance at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome in 2024 at which the band play a perfect mixture of songs from throughout their career. After more than a decade in the game, Employed To Serve have risen from road-warrior martyrs touring squats to arena-ready contenders, and they have radically raised the bar with Fallen Star, an utterly uncompromising record of dizzying diversity. A modern classic, 2000’s Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia is the breakthrough album from The Dandy Warhols, blending psych-rock, alt-pop and a laid-back indie cool, and now reissued on 2-LP blue vinyl.
Our release of the week is Skeletà, the sixth album from Swedish theatrical rock icons Ghost, a band on an inevitable path to world domination. This is the band’s most unflinchingly introspective work to date: a singular collection of timeless, universal sentiments, all filtered through a prism of a uniquely personal point of view.
- Skeletà is the sixth album from Grammy-winning Swedish theatrical rock icons Ghost, a band on an inevitable path to world domination. This is the band’s most unflinchingly introspective work to date, with lyrics that render the distinct individual emotional vistas of each of its 10 songs in one-on-one fashion, at times as if in a self-dialogue in a mirror. The end result is a singular collection of timeless, universal sentiments, all filtered through a prism of a uniquely personal point of view.
- Note: The LP is initially available on opaque purple vinyl.
- Kelly Jones continues to cement his place amongst the great British songwriters as Stereophonics celebrate over 25 years as one of the UK’s most-loved bands with their new album, Make ’Em Laugh, Make ’Em Cry , Make ’Em Wait. The album’s 8 tracks include the brand-new single ‘There’s Always Gonna Be Something’. Stereophonics have developed a deep-seated bond with their fans that is like few others.
- Note: The LP is initially available on Coke-bottle green vinyl, exclusive to independent shops.
- When They All Looked Up is one of renowned folk singer-songwriter Kate Rusby’s best-sounding albums to date, blending delicate acoustic instrumentation with lush, cinematic textures. It is sure to become a fan favourite, drawing in long-time listeners while captivating a new generation of folk music lovers. Leading the album is the poignant first single, ‘Let Your Light Shine’, a heartfelt message to her teenage daughters. With its inspiring lyrics and Kate’s golden vocals, it is destined to become a stand-out moment in her catalogue.
- Dream Into It, tells the rich and deeply personal tale of Billy Idol’s voyage from young punk-rock dreamer to his re-set as a leather-gloved MTV icon; then on to all his well publicised highs, lows, overdoses and accidents; culminating with a devastatingly honest assessment of the price of fame and the wisdom accrued by getting your act together and embracing family. While the album tells a story it is also a completely satisfying pumping, rocking pop-punk odyssey, as only Billy Idol can create.
- Self Esteem returns with her third studio album, A Complicated Woman. It’s a big, bold and poptastic statement. A Complicated Woman is her first album since the Brit and Mercury-nominated Prioritise Pleasure – crowned the Guardian and Sunday Times Culture’s Album of the Year.
- Note: The LP is initially available on red vinyl with a poster.
- Live in the City of Diamonds captures the visceral excitement of a Simple Minds concert. In a performance at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome in 2024, the band play a perfect mixture of songs from throughout their career, including early tracks such as ‘Love Song’, ‘Sons and Fascination’ and ‘Sweat in Bullet’, tracks from their era-defining album New Gold Dream including their first Top-20 UK single ‘Promised You a Miracle’, 1985’s international hit ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ and songs from the multi-platinum album Once Upon a Time, 1989’s number-one single ‘Belfast Child’ and songs from 1991’s Real Life album, including fan favourite ‘See The Lights’.
- Note: The LP is initially available on clear vinyl with glitter.
- Metal is more than just music: it’s lifestyle. And that’s something Employed To Serve truly believe in after more than a decade in the game, rising from road-warrior martyrs touring squats across Europe to stake their claim as arena-ready contenders following a huge tour with Gojira. Practising what they preach, Employed To Serve have alchemised ingredients from across the metal universe and radically raised the bar with Fallen Star. It’s an utterly uncompromising record of dizzying diversity.
- Note: The LP is initially available on both orange/black sunburst vinyl and orange/black splatter vinyl.
- A modern classic, 2000’s Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia is the breakthrough album from The Dandy Warhols, blending psych-rock, alt-pop and a laid-back indie cool. Featuring the anthemic ‘Bohemian Like You’, the hypnotic ‘Godless’ and the driving energy of ‘Get Off’, this record is packed with attitude, hooks and hazy, effortless charm. Now reissued on transparent blue vinyl, this double-LP edition brings new life to an album that defined an era. It’s a must-have for fans of alternative rock and beyond.
Releases for 11 April 2025
First to blast out the speakers on 11 April is The Mars Volta’s ninth studio album, Lucro sucio; Los Ojos del Vacio, on which they deliver an album that celebrates their roots, allowing them to reconnect with their origins. UK powerhouse band Those Damn Crows continue to prove that rock actually more alive than it has ever been on God Shaped Hole, the sound of a band at the very peak of their powers but determined to keep building on their achievements. The Complete Recordings 1981–1984 collects the two original albums recorded by Andy Summers and Robert Fripp plus a wealth of other material compiled from previously unreleased or recently discovered recordings, along with an audio documentary taken from Fripp’s tapes, packaged in a 10-panel book-sized digisleeve. Another iconic album, Anastacia’s 2000 debut, is now available for the first time on double vinyl with additional tracks on its 25th anniversary; Not That Kind captures the essence of Anastacia’s powerful voice and distinctive style.
Our release of the week is SABLE, fABLE, the stunning new album from Bon Iver, on which Justin Vernon portrays a man in love: flooded and overwhelmed by that initial infatuation, dreaming of the future. His voice is surrounded by radiant, ornate pop music on a truly rewarding album.
- SABLE, fABLE is the stunning new album from Bon Iver. Radiant, ornate pop music gleams around Justin Vernon’s voice as he focuses on a new and beautiful era. It’s a portrait of a man in love, flooded and overwhelmed by that first meeting. This is someone filled with light and purpose seeing an entire future right in front of him: a partner, new memories, maybe a family. But fables aren’t hinged on happy endings; they’re here to instill a lesson. As the album winds to a close, he acknowledges the need for patience and a commitment to put in the work. There’s a selfless rhythm required when you’re enmeshing yourself with another person. He’s ready to find that pace.
- Note: The LP is initially available on both split black and salmon pink vinyl.
- The Mars Volta’s ninth studio album represents a significant milestone for the band, which has been continually reinventing itself for more than 20 years. With Lucro sucio; Los Ojos del Vacio, they deliver an album that celebrates their roots, allowing them to reconnect with their origins. Fans are invited to embark with them on a musical journey.
- At a time when rock music is constantly (and incorrectly) written off, powerhouse UK rock band Those Damn Crows prove it’s actually more alive than it has ever been. Their new album, God Shaped Hole, is the sound of a band at the very peak of their powers but determined to keep building on their achievements. The track ‘No Surrender’ pulses with defiance and intent – it’s drawn from bitter experience but, like all the best Those Damn Crows songs, it finds positivity in the struggle.
- Note: The LP is initially available on both clear vinyl, exclusive to independent shops.
- The Complete Recordings 1981–1984 collects the two original albums – I Advance Masked and Bewitched – recorded by Andy Summers and Robert Fripp plus a new album, Mother Hold the Candle Steady, compiled from previously unreleased or recently discovered recordings, all in DTS-HD MA Surround (5.1) and 24/96 hi-res stereo. There is also a wealth of additional treasures, new mixes and an audio documentary taken from Fripp’s tapes, packaged in a 10-panel book-sized digisleeve with new sleeve notes by Sid Smith and notes on the recordings by King Crimson producer David Singleton.
- One of the most influential albums of the ’90s gets a welcome reissue on 180g vinyl in its original 1993 packaging. Siamese Dream – the 1993 album from The Smashing Pumpkins – features the hit singles ‘Today’, ‘Disarm’ and ‘Cherub Rock’. This was the album that broke the the alt-rock quartet led by Billy Corgan in a big way.
- To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Anastacia’s iconic debut album is now available for the first time on double vinyl with additional tracks. Not That Kind captures the essence of Anastacia’s powerful voice and distinctive style that made waves back in 2000. With tracks like the infectious ‘I’m Outta Love’, the soulful ‘Not That Kind’ and the empowering ‘Cowboys & Kisses’, Anastacia redefined pop and dance music.
Releases for 4 April 2025
We kick off 4 April’s bangers with Who Believes in Angels?, the debut collaborative album project from Elton John & Brandi Carlile, which includes ten new and original songs co-written with Bernie Taupin and produced by Andrew Watt. Forever Howlong is the first studio album from Black Country, New Road since 2022’s seminal Ants from Up There earned the band their second Top 5 UK album in just 12 months, with the legendary James Ford (Fontaines D.C, The Last Dinner Party, Beth Gibbons) taking the helm as producer. Miki Berenyi Trio’s debut album, Tripla, is a richly layered, imaginative and uniquely slanted strain of dream pop with an often euphoric and sometimes melancholic mix of guitars and electronica, fronted by Miki’s instantly recognisable vocal. Death Hilarious, the fifth album from Newcastle’s riff wizards Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, is defined by calculated aggression and self-lacerating lyrics, plus the surprising the appearance of a giant of hip-hop. Smith/Kotzen (Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden and Richie Kotzen of The Winery Dogs) continue their exploration of the blues, R&B, and classic hard rock on Black Light / White Noise, their modern approach – both on the fretboard and vocally – evoking their love of the form.

- A new chapter, a new-line-up, a newly minted sound! Miki Berenyi Trio’s debut album, Tripla, is a landmark record for its three creators: Miki Berenyi, KJ ‘Moose’ McKillop and Oliver Cherer. The album’s richly layered, imaginative and uniquely slanted strain of dream pop is an often euphoric and sometimes melancholic mix of guitars and electronica, fronted by Miki’s instantly recognisable vocal, overlaid with an often profound and sometimes abrasive or yearning view of the world.
- Note: The LP is initially available on Coke-bottle green vinyl.
- Death Hilarious, the fifth album from Newcastle’s riff wizards Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, is defined by calculated aggression and self-lacerating lyrics. Its startling bonuses include playful synth work and the appearance of a giant of hip-hop. With its title juxtaposing absurdity and seriousness, this is death – hilarious.
- Note: The LP is initially available on green vinyl with an A3 poster.
- Smith/Kotzen is the musical collaboration between Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden and Richie Kotzen, who is a member of The Winery Dogs as well as a solo artist in his own right. Releases for 21 March 2025
The first of 21 March’s smashers is Communion, the acclaimed debut from Catherine Anne Davies aka The Anchoress, which is finally getting a full release on LP and CD 14 years after its original issue. Since the beginning The Horrors have been determinedly innovative as well as critically acclaimed, and Night Life sees the band once more shapeshift into a new form, with a new sonic outlook and – this time – a new line-up. On The EVEN MORE Freewheelin’ Jeffrey Lewis the singer continues to strip away the artifice to reach for the humanity behind, and this is mirrored by the album cover: a tribute to Bob Dylan iconic 1963 cover shot, but with a twist! KOKO is Lottery Winners’ most adventurous album while being home to their most infectious songs yet, including a funk anthem, a power ballad, and the most uplifting, celebratory songs about panic attacks and ADHD you’ll ever hear! Finally, My Morning Jacket continue to upholding their long-established cultural legacy while sustaining the curiosity and creative hunger of their earliest days on Is, which expands the limits of their sound while elevating their artistry to unprecedented heights.
Our release of the week is The Great Western Road, whose songs reflect the journey that Deacon Blue has taken over the past 40 years, and remain honest to the age and experience they all share, with joyous lead single ‘Late ’88’ fondly recalling the care-free excitement of those early days.
- The songs on The Great Western Road reflect the journey that Deacon Blue has taken over the past 40 years, and remain honest to the age and experience they all share. Joyous lead single ‘Late ’88’ fondly remembers the care-free excitement of those early days. The Great Western Road was recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios, with Ricky Ross and (Deacon Blue guitarist and long-term collaborator) Gregor Philp returning to production duties, having produced the band’s last full-length album, 2020’s City of Love. The album was recorded by Matt Butler, who first worked with the band on their debut, Raintown.
- In March 2011, Catherine Anne Davies aka The Anchoress recorded her debut, Communion, at London’s legendary Church Studios with an all-female string section. Recorded live in a single afternoon, Communion is a collection of songs stripped of drums and modern technology. The mini-album was named as one of NME’s best cult albums of the year but was only released on a limited-edition CD; now, 14 years to the date of recording, Communion is finally getting a full release on LP and CD.
- There are few bands who’ve created a canon as determinedly innovative and critically acclaimed as The Horrors. Since the beginning they’ve roamed between genres and atmospheres freely: emerging as zeitgeist-shaking garage-goths on their 2007 debut, Strange House, before taking a shoegaze-nodding sharp left on their Mercury-nominated follow-up, Primary Colours. While the end results vary, at their core has always been the same unbending commitment and bloody-minded allegiance to the cause. The Horrors are not and will never be a band that approach the job lightly: they’re musicians who’ll funnel everything they are into the process, at the expense of health, wealth and sometimes sanity. And so, while their sixth album, Night Life, sees the band once more shapeshift into a new form, with a new sonic outlook and – this time – a new line-up, in some ways The Horrors are still as they ever were.
- The EVEN MORE Freewheelin’ Jeffrey Lewis was recorded in just four days in Nashville and features Lewis’s Voltage touring band of Brent Cole on drums, Mem Pahl on bass and Mallory Feuer on violin and keyboard. Jeffrey’s style of ‘anti-singing’ continues to reach for the humanity behind the artifice, mirroring the nudity of the album cover. Speaking of which: One snowy February day in 1963, Bob Dylan and Suze Rotolo were photographed in New York City for the cover of The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan LP, around the corner from Dylan’s 4th Street apartment. 60 years later, lifelong 4th St resident Jeffrey Lewis had the idea to try to take the same chilly photo but with no pants on, to prove himself ‘even more’ freewheelin’ than Bob! This plan was foiled by global warming, as New York City winters no longer offer snowy photo ops, but at least Jeffrey tried.
- KOKO is Lottery Winners’ most adventurous album while being home to their most infectious songs yet. It’s a captivating album that will surely see their vast fan base continue to grow. KOKO’s 12 tracks include a beautiful ode to friendship, a deliriously catchy duet with Reverend and The Makers’ Jon McClure about being unhealthily obsessed with your ex, a literally escapist chant-along funk anthem, a power ballad featuring Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, a tender song of regret, plus the most uplifting, celebratory songs about panic attacks, ADHD and being expelled from school you’ll ever hear. There’s even a dance routine.
- For more than 25 years, My Morning Jacket have achieved an incredibly rare feat in rock & roll, upholding a long-established cultural legacy while sustaining the curiosity and creative hunger of their earliest days. For their tenth studio album, Is, the band teamed up with Grammy Award-winning producer Brendan O’Brien (Springsteen, Pearl Jam) for what may be their most masterfully realised work yet, once again expanding the limits of their sound while elevating their artistry to unprecedented heights.
Releases for 14 March 2025
The first of 14 March’s hottest albums is Nation Shall Speak Unto Nation, the tenth solo album from Edwyn Collins, recorded at his Clashnarrow Studio in Helmsdale, north-east Scotland, and co-produced by Edwyn with Sean Read and Jake Hutton, who all play on the album. Symphony of Lungs came to life at the BBC Proms as an orchestral and choral masterpiece with an outstanding performance from Florence + The Machine and Jules Buckley, reimagining fan favourites such as ‘Dog Days Are Over’ and ‘You’ve Got the Love’ in addition to rarities Florence hadn’t performed for many years. When Karl Wallinger left The Waterboys to form World Party, it took just one song, ‘Ship of Fools’, to convince fans that this was no mere side project; Best in Show is a 16-song greatest hits package drawn from the the band’s work between 1986 and 2000. The Father of Make Believe carves out new sonic territory for Coheed and Cambria amidst the wailing guitars, firework-crack drums, and Claudio Sanchez’s aching, powerful voice; and this time, he’s writing more directly about his life and, especially, his unusual career. Finally, Stygian Waves builds on the impeccable musicianship and stellar songwriting of Envy of None’s acclaimed debut, boldly venturing into a spectrum of new guises – from alt-pop and industrial rock to synthwave and hard rock.
Our release of the week, The Overview, sees Steven Wilson return to expansive, progressive music, a genre he helped redefine: the two wildly ambitious side-long tracks are each made up of distinctive musical sections that flow from one to the other, playing out as unique and continuous pieces. Headphones and a wide-open mind are recommended.
- Steven Wilson’s eighth studio album, The Overview, is his most audacious to date, inspired by the ‘overview effect’ experienced by astronauts looking back at the Earth from space. The two-track, forty-two-minute album sees Wilson return to expansive, progressive music, a genre he helped redefine and repopularise with both his solo and Porcupine Tree releases. The two wildly ambitious tracks, one featuring a set of lyrics by XTC’s Andy Partridge, are each made up of distinctive musical sections that flow from one to the other, playing out as unique and continuous pieces. Wilson’s 21st-century progressive music updates the classic ‘prog’ musical palette to incorporate everything from glistening electronics to post-rock and beyond, which brings the genre right into the beating heart of the current musical landscape. The Overview is instantly recognisable as Steven Wilson and will stand alone as an utterly unique release for 2025. Headphones and a wide-open mind are recommended.
- Edwyn Collins is back with his tenth solo album, Nation Shall Speak Unto Nation. The 11-track album was recorded at his Clashnarrow Studio in Helmsdale, north-east Scotland, and was co-produced by Edwyn with Sean Read and Jake Hutton, who all play on the album. The album also features James Walbourne on guitar, William Collins on bass, Carwyn Ellis on guitar, Lena Wright and Bianca White on backing vocals and includes two co-writes – ‘The Mountains Are My Home’ with Carwyn and ‘Strange Old World’ with William.
- On 11 September 2024, Symphony of Lungs came to life at the BBC Proms with an outstanding performance from Florence + The Machine and Jules Buckley, reimagining the album Lungs in its entirety. This included best-selling fan-favourite singles such as ‘Dog Days Are Over’, ‘You’ve Got the Love’ and ‘Cosmic Love’ in addition to rarities Florence admitted she hadn’t performed in at least 15 years, including ‘Bird Song’ and ‘Falling’. Jules Buckley with his team of arrangers transformed the already beautifully produced album into an orchestral and choral masterpiece.
- When Karl Wallinger left The Waterboys in the mid-’80s to form World Party, it took just one song to convince fans that this was no mere side project. That song, ‘Ship of Fools’, along with ‘Is It Like Today?’, ‘Way Down Now’, ‘Put the Message in the Box’ and ‘She’s the One’ populate this first-ever worldwide release of the 16-song greatest hits package Best in Show, which draws from the albums Private Revolution, Goodbye Jumbo, Bang!, Egyptology, Dumbing Up and Arkeology.
- The Father of Make Believe carves out new sonic territory for Coheed and Cambria amidst all of the wailing guitars, drums that crack like fireworks, and Claudio Sanchez’s aching, powerful voice that centres us through moments both placid and pinwheeling. But where the set really forges new ground is in how Sanchez embraces the role of main character. He’s often used epic songcraft to mask the stories he wanted to tell: reflections on an addicted father; memories of his beloved grandfather; concern about raising a child in a cruel world; hopes and fears around the love of his life. This time, he’s writing more directly about his life and, especially, his unusual career. Sanchez is the Father of Make Believe, gazing down upon this world he’s wrought.
- Stygian Waves builds on the impeccable musicianship and stellar songwriting of Envy of None’s acclaimed 2022 self-titled debut. With this new album, the Canadian-American supergroup boldly ventures into a spectrum of new guises – from alt-pop and industrial rock to synthwave and hard rock. Recorded primarily in Toronto in 2024 and entirely self-produced, Stygian Waves is the culmination of each member’s distinct musical vision, blending haunting melodies, moreish riffs and richly layered electronic textures into a compelling and unique sound.
Releases for 7 March 2025
The first of 7 March’s top picks is Satanic Rites of The Wildhearts, a belated follow-up to the band’s classic debut, Earth vs The Wildhearts: songs of defiance and hope, of ragged glory, of true heart-on-sleeve emotion, that sound like no-one else on this planet (or the explored parts of space). Curious Ruminant, which follows new Jethro Tull albums in 2022 and 2023, is an album of mostly full-band music, consisting of nine tracks varying in length from two and a half minutes to almost seventeen minutes. Tsunami Sea builds on Spiritbox’s chart-topping 2021 debut, Eternal Blue, and elevates the band’s signature visceral sound to new heights of intensity and musicality. The Melancholy Season marks Benmont Tench’s true arrival, after four decades as keyboard player in Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, as a singer-songwriter, without compromise or doubt. Oceanside Countryside, the latest of the great ‘lost’ albums to be released as part of Neil Young’s Analog Original Series (AOS), includes, for the first time ever, the track list originally planned for this album, in the original analogue mixes done at the time of recording. There are also 50th anniversary editions of David Bowie’s Young Americans, Autobahn by Kraftwerk and Close to the Edge by Yes (52½ years young!).
Our release of the week comes from Bob Mould, the legendary former frontman of Hüsker Dü and Sugar, who returns with his new album. Here We Go Crazy finds Bob on top form, delivering 11 slices of anthemic, emotional driving alt-rock, featuring the singles ‘Here We Go Crazy’, ‘When Your Heart Is Broken’ and ‘Breathing Room’.
- Bob Mould, the legendary former frontman of Hüsker Dü and Sugar, returns with his new album. Here We Go Crazy finds Bob on top form, delivering 11 slices of anthemic, emotional driving alt-rock, featuring the singles ‘Here We Go Crazy’, ‘When Your Heart Is Broken’ and ‘Breathing Room’.
- Satanic Rites of The Wildhearts is conceived as a belated follow-up to the band’s classic debut, Earth vs The Wildhearts. These are songs of defiance and hope, of ragged glory, of true heart-on-sleeve emotion; songs that sound like no-one else on this planet (or the explored parts of space). Lead single ‘Failure Is the Mother of Success’ sums up the album via a spectacular eight-minute lap taking in all manner of twists and turns, and the message here is plain, forged through sharp-end experience.
- Curious Ruminant, which follows new Jethro Tull albums in 2022 and 2023, is an album of mostly full-band music, consisting of nine tracks varying in length from two and a half minutes to almost seventeen minutes. Amongst the musicians featured are former keyboardist Andrew Giddings and drummer James Duncan, along with current band members David Goodier, John O’Hara, Scott Hammond and, making his recording debut with the band, guitarist Jack Clark.
- The deluxe limited-edition sets feature the main album, alternative stereo mixes and a Blu-ray containing Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround-sound mixes (once again undertaken by Bruce Soord of The Pineapple Thief) in artbook packaging, as well as exclusive interview material. The vinyl box set also includes the album pressed on ultra-clear 180g vinyl and two exclusive art prints.
- Spiritbox’s second album, Tsunami Sea, builds on the band’s massively successful 2021 debut, Eternal Blue, which topped charts and dominated critics’ year-end lists, and 2023’s Fear of Fear EP, which earned the band two consecutive Grammy nominations. The album, co-produced by the band’s Mike Stringer and Dan Braunstein, features the band’s signature visceral sound, elevated to new heights of intensity and musicality highlighted in singles ‘Soft Spine’ and ‘Perfect Soul’.
- The Melancholy Season marks Benmont Tench’s true arrival, after four decades as keyboard player in Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, as a singer-songwriter, without compromise or doubt. It was produced by Jonathan Wilson, an acclaimed singer-songwriter himself and touring guitarist for Roger Waters, who has worked on career-defining albums for Dawes, Father John Misty and Margo Price. The album’s core studio band includes Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith on guitar, Sebastian Steinberg of Soul Coughing on bass and Wilson on drums, among other instruments, with contributions from Jenny O. and Sara Watkins.
- Oceanside Countryside is the latest of the great ‘lost’ albums to be released as part of Neil Young’s Analog Original Series (AOS). The album was recorded from May to December 1977, preceding the release of Comes a Time in 1978, and shares the same country/folk sound. This long-awaited vinyl release of Oceanside Countryside includes, for the first time ever, the track list originally planned for this album, in the original analogue mixes done at the time of recording, along with some extra tracks since released on Archives Vol. III
