This week sees the pace of new releases drop slightly, but there are still some belters due out on 9th October<\/strong>. This week’s eclectic selection starts with Jesse Malin<\/strong>, who returns with a fine effort, Outsiders<\/em><\/strong>. I have fallen in love with Israel Nash<\/strong>’s Silver Season<\/em><\/strong> – a fine example of cosmic American music. Small Faces<\/strong> have a 5-CD box set covering their Decca Years<\/em><\/strong>; Tom Jones<\/strong> releases Long Lost Suitcase<\/em><\/strong>, the final effort in his trilogy and his first since 2012’s Spirit in the Room<\/em>; Reverend & The Makers<\/strong>’ Mirrors<\/em><\/strong> has been described by no less an authority than Carl Barât as their magnum opus<\/em>; Nigel Kennedy<\/strong> gives Vivaldi’s Four Seasons<\/em><\/strong> a fresh perspective; and there are vinyl reissues of four of Status Quo<\/strong>’s early albums. However, releases of the week is John Grant<\/strong>’s Grey Tickles, Black Pressure<\/em><\/strong> – and mighty fine it is too!<\/p>\n
