To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Pink Floyd<\/strong>\u2019s iconic album Wish You Were Here<\/em><\/strong> is being reissued in various formats. Featuring \u2018Shine on You Crazy Diamond\u2019, the hypnotic \u2018Welcome to the Machine\u2019, the scathing \u2018Have a Cigar\u2019 and the essential title track, this is undoubtedly one of the most important albums in the history of popular music. The record\u2019s themes of absence, isolation, transience and comment on the insincerity of the music business are embodied in the iconic album artwork. 50 years since its release, Wish You Were Here<\/em> sounds as resonant and vital as ever. This special anniversary edition allows fans, for the first time, to delve deeper into a pivotal moment in Pink Floyd\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

The 2-CD set<\/strong> and the 3-LP set<\/strong> include bonus discs of studio rarities including previously unreleased alternate versions and demos presenting Pink Floyd\u2019s eighth studio album in a brand new way that demands repeat listening. The Blu-ray<\/strong> features the album in a new Dolby Atmos mix by James Guthrie, and adds 16 live recordings captured by the renowned bootlegger Mike Millard at Pink Floyd\u2019s Los Angeles Sports Arena concert on 26 April 1975.<\/p>\n

The deluxe box set<\/strong> includes all this plus a fourth LP containing a live 1974 recording from Wembley, a replica Japanese 7″ single of \u2018Have a Cigar\u2019 b\/w \u2018Welcome to the Machine\u2019, a hardcover book including unseen photographs, a comic-book tour programme and a Knebworth poster.<\/p>\n
