{"id":1697,"date":"2018-04-27T17:30:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-27T16:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hundredrecords.com\/blog\/?p=1697"},"modified":"2018-04-26T15:05:16","modified_gmt":"2018-04-26T14:05:16","slug":"new-releases-4may2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hundredrecords.com\/blog\/new-releases-4may2018\/","title":{"rendered":"New releases for 4 May 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our Super Six for this week opens with <strong><em>World\u2019s Strongest Man<\/em><\/strong>, the magnificent third solo album by <strong>Gaz Coombes<\/strong>, on which he has evolved from \u2018former Supergrass frontman\u2019 to hugely respected Mercury Prize-nominated solo artist. <strong><em>Be More Kind<\/em><\/strong> finds Hampshire-born singer-songwriter <strong>Frank Turner<\/strong> stepping out of his comfort zone, imbuing his trademark intricate folk and punk roar with new, bold experimental shades. <strong><em>Gumboot Soup<\/em><\/strong>, the final of the five full-length albums <strong>King Gizzard &amp; the Lizard Wizard<\/strong> released in 2017, and which contains some of Stu Mackenzie\u2019s favourite songs of the year, gets a welcome physical release. <strong><em>Good Thing<\/em><\/strong>, produced and co-written by Grammy nominee Ricky Reed, marks the first music released by <strong>Leon Bridges<\/strong> since the release of <em>Coming Home<\/em> in 2015. And <strong>Reef<\/strong> release <strong><em>Revelation<\/em><\/strong>, their first studio album since 2000\u2019s <em>Getaway<\/em>, road-testing new material on tour to make the album is as strong as it is.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty years after last playing together, <strong>Belly<\/strong> decided it was \u2018now or never\u2019.
