Widely considered to be The Smiths<\/strong>\u2019 finest work as well as one of the greatest albums ever made, The Queen Is Dead<\/em><\/strong> has cast a significant influence over subsequent generations since it was first released in the summer of 1986. Now, 31 years after its original release, a newly mastered version of the album will be released on 20 October.<\/p>\n

The album features several of the band\u2019s finest moments, including the title track and \u2018There Is A Light That Never Goes Out\u2019, as well as the iconic singles \u2018The Boy With The Thorn In His Side\u2019 and \u2018Bigmouth Strikes Again\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou cannot continue to record and simply hope that your audience will approve, or that average critics will approve, or that radio will approve,<\/em>\u201d says Morrissey. \u201cYou progress only when you wonder if an abnormally scientific genius would approve \u2013 and this is the leap The Smiths took with The Queen Is Dead.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

The deluxe 3-CD + DVD set is housed in a box with a lift-off lid, and includes a stapled 12-page booklet.<\/p>\n
