Iggy Pop has described <strong>Sleaford Mods<\/strong> as \u201cundoubtedly, absolutely, definitely, the world\u2019s greatest rock\u2019n\u2019roll band\u201d, so give their latest, <strong><em>English Tapas<\/em><\/strong>, a try, it\u2019s great! <strong>Ed Sheeran<\/strong> returns with <strong><em>\u00f7 (Divide)<\/em><\/strong>, which may just find him in his finest form to date. It doesn\u2019t take too long to realise that, while all the things that made <strong>Temples<\/strong> special the first time around remain intact, their new album, <strong><em>Volcano<\/em><\/strong>, is both beefier and more melodic with a balance I\u2019ve seen described as \u201cnice and queasy\u201d! <strong>Nadia Reid<\/strong> returns with <strong><em>Preservation<\/em><\/strong>, another album full of witty, thoughtful and heartfelt lyricism blended with a songwriter\u2019s ear for an engaging melody. <strong>Holly Macve<\/strong>\u2019s much-anticipated debut album, <strong><em>Golden Eagle<\/em><\/strong>, is full of spellbinding country and western ballads and devastating emotional delivery, and is one of the most remarkably assured debuts of this or any other year, especially as she\u2019s only 21!<\/p>\n<p>Album of the week is <strong><em>Last Place<\/em><\/strong>, the return of <strong>Grandaddy<\/strong> after more than 10 years away.
