Our recommended releases for 24 February<\/strong> certainly bring the noise!<\/p>\n

The wonderfully named King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard<\/strong> release what they claim will be the first of five albums during 2017, blimey! Flying Microtonal Banana<\/em><\/strong> is a subtle shift from last year\u2019s Nonagon Infinity<\/em>. Sleeping Through The War<\/strong> is the boldest album to date from All Them Witches<\/em><\/strong>, and designed specifically to be played loud! Brian Jonestown Massacre<\/strong> manage to make King Gizzard look like slackers by releasing their second album in 3 months, Don\u2019t Get Lost<\/em><\/strong>, which is more of the shoegaze psychedelia for which they are rightly famed. Sick Scenes<\/em><\/strong> by Los Campesinos<\/strong> is a marvellous album full of the joy of just being in a band. Alt.country stalwarts Old 97\u2019s<\/strong> have produced a fine record which is a worthy successor to their most popular album, 2014\u2019s Most Messed Up<\/em>. The first album in 4 years from Dirty Projectors<\/strong>, creatively called, well, Dirty Projectors<\/em><\/strong>, is a lovely blend of immediacy, lush production and thoughtful lyrics. The Mute Gods<\/strong>\u2019s latest release, Tardigrades Will Inherit The Earth<\/em><\/strong>, certainly brings the prog power; we\u2019ve no idea what it all means, but it sounds great!<\/p>\n

Album of the week is Freedom Highway<\/em><\/strong>, the follow-up to Rhiannon Giddens<\/strong>\u2019s debut solo release, Tomorrow Is My Turn<\/em>. This new album is much more raw, far more personal and a delight to the ears.<\/p>\n
